The first graders got a lesson in symmetry! We spoke about how there was an imaginary line down the middle of things, if one side was the same as the other, we would have symmetry. Then we turned into ninjas and HIIIII-YAed around the classroom to see what was symmetrical and what wasn’t after looking at a few teacher examples. They caught on quick and we started our project!
We karate chopped our paper in half, painted one side with warm colors, and the other with cool. (Brief review from the Spanish Guitar Project from the fall), then we painted black buildings on the warm side, folded them in half and printed the reflection on the cool side!
